President TRUMP has narrowed the field of potential Federal Reserve Chair replacements to three or four candidates, contradicting earlier reports of an 11-person shortlist. The decision may come "a little bit early," Trump told reporters, with Jerome Powell's term set to expire in May 2026.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed the administration is casting a "very wide net" for candidates, emphasizing the president's open-minded approach. Market strategist David Zervos and BlackRock's Rick Rieder were among names floated in earlier reports, though BlackRock declined to comment.
